Color-blocked Top Finished: Butterick 6287

Hey everyone,
I had to do a quick top to get my sewing mojo back, so to speak.  Aside from having had throat surgery and other major holiday happening, I have been mentally on my moms cape jacket and have had issues with fabric stains and the like.  So, needless to say, my drive to work on that project was stammered.  I have been wanting to sew for sure.  That's why I decided to go ahead and knock out something quick for her to get me back into the game.  The fabric is the same beautiful quality double sided rayon/spandex knit I got from Sew Much Fabric as I got for my "almost reversible" dress.  She is out of this color, but I have my eye on this gorgeous blue jean/saffron version.

I got this top completed in about 2 hours while periscoping the entire process during my regular "Sew & Chat" sessions.  I will try and let you know ahead of time when I will be doing a Live Sew & Chat, via my Instagram and Facebook page.  Just make sure you follow and select the "receive notifications" in order to be notified when I go live.  I'll let you know when I plan to go live via periscope or my YouTube channel.  Eventually, all these shows will be on Youtube, but right now, I'm having problems working out my flow.  Since periscope is so much easier to manage than youtube for live filming, you may see me there as well.

Thanks for following.

  1. Nice work.. Enjoy the colors...

  2. I enjoyed watching you sew and cut out the shirt. You are right, I don't mind a bit of silence with music in the background while you work. you have to save your voice for the important stuff. Thanks for opening yourself and home to videoing your sewing. It motivates me.
